The Future Of Autism - Part 2

There may be a time when the government finally listen to the needs to give more help to people with autism, but in reality, how much action will they take? This is a very unsure question as it is unknown to what the government will be prioritizing at the time. By the time autism gets enough awareness we may be focusing primarily on tackling issues such as global warming. It is hard to say as of yet. If we look at the government we can base a prediction on similar cases in the past. For example, the government are aware of HIV and AIDS but they do not do much about it, it seems to be mainly charities that are putting in the time and effort to try and find a cure as well as raise money. This could mean that when autism gets enough awareness that it could get completely disregarded by the government and they decide to focus on other issues.

Maybe the government are not very pro active about it but based on what we can predict I think that the best path for people to take to prevent autism is to start up charities to raise money, anything that can raise money will help as it is unsure as to whether the government will actually do anything about this disorder if it becomes even further widespread. Autism in infants is becoming more and more dominant and we need to neutralize this disorder sooner rather than later.

So what about the future of carers and parents who spend hours and hours everyday looking after children with autism, will they get funding from the government to look after the individuals with autism? I think that this is a very debatable question because I believe that there are quite a few paths it could branch off into. For example we could see parents getting no funding from the government and everything could just remain the same as it is now. Or we could see the government employing special carers to look after these children allowing the parents to have some free time of there own and work. However we could just see a typical plan in which carers and parents just receive a weekly amount of money and they use it to cover any costs required.

It is incredibly difficult to tell considering all the factors which make autism what it is today. For all we know there could be a cure for autism found tomorrow. There is no knowing of what the future may bring but lets all hope that it is good one for autism as its situation is continue to worsen not only for the sufferers but the carers also. Autism is not just a disorder; it prevents others from being able to lead a normal life. It is not the fault of the child of course, but when autism can take so much away from someone who is no t suffering from the actual disorder it just shows how devastating it could be if it is allowed to spread even further.

I do hope that I have given you a good insight into what the future may bring in terms of autism, it is a very serious issue and the more time we spend raising awareness of it the better because we need something to change and unfortunately without sufficient funding I cannot see any significant changes occur. The government has other issues to deal with, but we must try our hardest to give it a try as it may be our best shot at tackling and crushing autism once and for all.
